CELEBRATING LOUISIANA RICH HISTORY

NOLA Tall Ships
The fleet of Tall Ships spent five days in New Orleans to celebrate her 300th birthday. These historic ships represent the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War, and more. There is not a chapter to America’s history that is without a link to the water, nor would the US be what it is today without New Orleans rich maritime history. The Crescent Pilots navigated the fleet of tall ships into New Orleans for this special occasion.

World War II Festival

To honor the legacy of the WWII generation and highlight the mighty machines that contributed to Allied victory on air, sea, and land, the National WWII Museum created a three-day festival to bring this great victory to life. Experiences included dockside tours of a fully restored PT-305 and an expanded Kids Zone—complete with a challenge course, a rock-climbing wall, face-painting, hands-on history stations, and more. Other entertainment included a victory warbird parade, WWII-era military vehicle exhibition, and a fashion show. Soaring WWII warbirds flew above while others were stationed for tours by the young and old.
